For greater protection, the Z06 also features dual level airbags with seat sensors to cushion occupants of any size. Although the all-alluminium Z06 body is light, it’s also remarkably strong, with a high-strength perimeter frame, foam-padded doors with side impact bars, cross structural beams and overhead roll bar.
Individual brake pads in the 6-piston front caliper are a first for Corvette and almost unheard of in production cars.
But our commitment to braking capacity doesn’t end there. The Z06 is also fitted with 355mm vented and cross-drilled discs at the front and 340mm at the rear, plus PBR Monobloc calipers with multiple opposing pistons.

Depending on crash severity, both front airbags can deploy at one of two different rates.
Based on the seat position and weight applied, the system also detects if a child or smaller adult is in the passenger seat, and automatically disables the airbag for their safety.
The Z06 also helps to keep you in control by deploying a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
It continuously tracks the pressure of each tyre and passes the data to the Driver Information Center, so you always know when a tyre requires attention.
If a puncture occurs, the tyres can even run while flat, giving you precious time to drive somewhere safe.
